Trailer, thoughts & first impression

When I saw the trailer I was really excited to play this game! The graphics were amazing and I thought the story would be really awesome. I was surprised by all the monsters and the colour palette they used for the game. Everything is really dark, moody and grey and the main character Six is a really small bright yellow character. The characters are all big, slimy, fat and they are looking all really sad and angry. When I searched for the storyline it was really hard to find so there was no clue what I could expect about this game. You just have to face your nightmares and bring Six to safety. This made me really curious so I couldn’t wait to start!

The Game

Okay.. I am, TOTALLY confused! Really what did I just play? and how are people obsessed with this game???
I finished this game in like 1,5 to 2 hours and there was just no story line. I am a bit upset with this game, I mean the graphics were fantastic and the design of the characters was brilliant. Now I finished I have no idea what was going on in the game. I got so many questions and I really want to figure them out. Like why am I on a ship? Why are there fat people trying to eat me, why am I eating people and a sort of small gnome with a party hat. What am I doing with those gnomes and why am I breaking dolls with black smoke in it. There is just no logic to it. Also you have to figure out a lot. It feels more like a puzzle game than a horror adventure game. The horror was for me a bit weak, there were not really jump scares or scary moments (maybe because I am a horror fan), for people who are sensitive for horror, this can be quite a scary game. So am I a fan of this game, no, not really. I love absolutely love the design and how they made the game, but it is not strong enough for me.

Little Nightmares II

Next, will I play Little Nightmares II? I think I will watch the gameplay first. I already saw on someones gameplay that this game will take like 4 hours to finish… so it is a bit longer then part one. I first want to see the whole gameplay if it is worth the money. The game is also looking really awesome in the forest with the cabins and the creepy characters… but if the story is as bad as part 1, I am not willing to spend my money on this. For me the storyline is one of the most important things in a game and in a movie. A horror movie without a good story is terrible! So let’s watch the gameplay and maybe I will post a new review of this game later this month!

About the box

A few years ago, I met the gorgeous Evanna Lynch at Heroes Dutch Comic Con, for me as a Harry Potter geek a dream come true. I know this woman was really inspiring and while the Q&A I thought she would be very busy answering questions about the HP movies. But instead of that, she started to talk about her company, her passion for animals and being a vegan. This was all really impressing to hear and I have learned so much about the world of being a vegan and the products vegan people use.

I must say, a full vegan life would be really hard for me. I know there are a lot of delicious vegan products, but I am a big fan of omelettes, hamburgers, shoarma and other delicious meat recipes. Last weeks I am busy with eating more vegetarian meat or products which can be replaced for meat. But… let’s talk about the beauty box 😀

First impression

The box arrived and the first impression I got was the beautiful design on the box. The leaves and the logo were really clear! As soon as I turned the box I saw the shipping label and my personal data. Let’s open the box!

As soon as I opened the box I saw 5 different items and all were covered in white powder. I was surprised and of course really confused why there was a white powder all in the box. For some reason I was scared something happened to the package, but I started to take out all of the product and I saw one item which was loose powder… the weird feeling was gone completely. It was great to see that all the products were really different from each other and also really useful. The design of the products were really minimalistic and also from great material. Also in the box there was a flyer with information about the box and where I could find a full description. I went to the website and I could see some videos about all of the products and how to use them.

Let’s move on to the products!

The products

As I said, the products were all really different from each other. There are a few things that could need an improvement. Like the loose powder was really wasted, you can see it on the photo above. All of the products were covered in the powder from the face mask. Also all of the products from this box are for your face and on the website you couldn’t choose the type of your face. Like I have a very natural face, but if I use different products my face can turn really oily. I really curious to the products and how my face would react to it. The last week I used the products a couple of times and I was surprised by the results!

Chiky Botanica - Serene Serum

The serum from Chiky Botanica is a serum to give you a more awaken feeling in the morning and it will also wake up your skin. The smell is really good, you can smell a soft rose and lavender smell when you put it on your face. The serum contains a lot of different oils: Blue Tansy, Argan Oil, Jojoba Oil, Coconut Oil, Grapeseed Oil, Rosehip Oil, Meadowfoam Seed Oil and Essential Oils. My skin can feel there are many oils added to this serum and to give a fair review, my face is not happy with it. If I use the serum on my face the next day I will have 3 more pimples. My face is not happy with it, but.. my hands are! I normally have really dry hands and that can be really annoying. My hands are blessed with this oily serum!! I used it for a couple of days and they are feeling so soft and they are almost feeling like baby cheeks. So if you can’t use it on your face, use it on your hands (or feet)!

Laritzy Cosmetics - Creme Highlighter (Fame)

Sorry for the dirty looking picture, I took this picture after using it (oops). What should I say! This product is really great and really easy to use. I am using the product mostly on my cheeks but also on the tip of my nose to give it a little more shine. You don’t have to use that much, the effect is wonderful and it will give you a natural glow. I would definitely buy more of the products from Laritzy, the products are pretty basic, what is fine at this time of the year. I can’t say much more about this product, just check it out!

J&L Naturals - Shine Face Mask

Here we have our little mysterious powder friend. This face mask has also a little wooden spoon which I forgot to add on the picture #stupidme 😛 The overall look is a bit a mixed feeling. It is really great that the powder is served in a paper cup and paper packaging… but for me it looks really cheap. Maybe this is because I am used to plastic packaging. The mask itself is fantastic and my skin is feeling really great after the mask. This DIY mask is also perfect for zero waste. You can keep the dry powder for very long and with the spoon you can measure how much mask you want, PERFECT!! The clay mask is having a lot of vitamin C which will help you recover your skin. So if I am using the oil, I can use the mask afterwards. No joke, it really works. I can see the pimples drying out real quick. So four stars for this and the -1 star for the packaging.

Derma E - Microdermabrasion Scrub Deluxe SAMPLE

Ohh this beauty is my favourite item of the whole box! I am a huge fan of scrubs. I can have a really oily skin sometimes and a scrub is making my skin feeling fab! I used this scrub before the face mask and it was just a magical wonder. For a sample you can do very long with this item. You don’t have to use that much of the product to have a beautiful and clean face. Really recommended!

Willing Beauty - Daydream Illuminating dat moisturiser

And the last product of this box. This day creme is a wonderful item for this time of the year. The creme is helping you to protect against UVA/UVB rays, something what is really common at the moment. Also this creme will help you hydrate your skin and for me I don’t have to use a lot of this creme. I as surprised by the size of this tube, you can use it for a very long time which is perfect for summer! I will give this product four stars, the reason why is because it is again a bit to oily for my skin.

Experience and future!

So… what now?! I must say that I am in love with the box and that it is a wonderful start to learn more about the vegan community and to take a deep dive into the world of cruelty free beauty products. People should be more aware of the world of beauty products and how they are made. I am a huge animal lover and this is a perfect start to do more with vegan products. Does that mean you are going to get more boxes? YES! I became a member of the Kinder Beauty family and I started with a 3 month subscription. This will also mean that I will have a beauty box review every month until (for now) August (maybe September). I can’t wait to get more of these boxes and I am happy with this beautiful crew!

A look forward and getting everything together

From New Year until now

In the last couple of months I have been busy with decorating and redesigning my journal. I think it is a great way to collect all notes, lists and important dates. I won’t use it as a normal planner, because that will cost a lot of time that I don’t have. When I started this journal I already knew it was going to be a really decorative journal with many lovely pictures, drawings and stickers from a lot of different artists. There will be a few “standard” pages in this journal every month like:

– Important dates
– School deadlines
– Cutie Squad spreads
– Blog posts to make
– Instagram status
– Sticker & button ideas
– Stats
– To do lists

So the months will be filled really well. I also got a great collaboration with the brand Cutie Squad, this later in the post. To start the months I have been searching a lot on Etsy for some new designs and decoration. Sadly it is quite hard to find anything good, shipping has been really expensive since Covid. I am busy making stickers too… but the shipping is killing it.

CUTIE SQUAD

A couple of weeks ago I had contact with my friend Gladys from the brand Cutie Squad about an awesome collaboration. I am going to make some beautiful and cute pages for her brand in all sort of different themes. Her stickers are always making me really happy and they really fit to all themes you want to create.
I have always been obsessed with the kawaii style like the stickers from Cutie Squad. In London in 2012 I saw a really cute Japanes store with all things from Sailor Moon, Totoro, Hello Kitty and a lot of clothing from Angelic Pretty. I was obsessed with the designs and the adorable style. Then in 2017 I went to Tokyo and I didn’t know what I saw, the maid cafe’s, themed restaurant and the kawaii streets. These stickers are making me think about these amazing holidays and the lovely culture.

I already got some amazing themes in mind with those stickers and most of them will be movie themed and seasonal, but I think there will be also a lot of surprise pages. USING INSTAGRAM

I really changed my Instagram for the last couple of weeks. Normally I was busy posting some random private photos, but since a few weeks ago I have been really busy with creating a theme for my account, thinking about what I post and create photos for specific brands. I wanted to do something more than just random posting my weird life. So now my account Maudofzoiets has turned out into an aesthetic page… I think 😀 I am also really happy with the preset I created, it is really warm and the colours are matching really good. I will use my page also to show my BJ pages. They are quite nice to show ( I think) and they are fitting really beautiful into my feed. I will use my BulletJournal for reviews on my Instagram too. Only trackers and that kind of lists are not made for me (whoops), I just thought that I haven’t fill in any of the habit trackers from may! ( BIG WHOOPS!!)

I hope you all will enjoy my journal spread and the new look of my Instagram. Hopefully this all will make my planning skills (which I don’t have) a bit stricter. Yes… I know I promised to write more blog posts.. but this what I meant about being chaotic and ignoring lists 😛 I am already done with another post, so at the end of this week there will be another blog post!
